is there a program available that will allow me to use the calculator in flip closed mode? or is there a way to get it done?

I don't really know as there are many calculator apps I've never used.
Try goin to
www.my-symbian.com & search for them. Each app has detailed descriptions & screenshots

Handyday 2005 amongst a lot of other things has a basic flip closed Calculator whch works .. And Skincalculator is a more elaborate affair and a scientific calculator for flip open.

Try using Finanz - it allows Flip-closed mode calc.

went to kylom.com and checked out the latest version of Finanz. indeed it can be used during flip closed mode! thanks for the info @nallyvaico.

there is also skincalc. Haven't used it myself but is says it works in FC Mode.
