My free minutes start at 19:00. I made a call at 18:50 which lasted for 42 minutes and they charged me for the whole call. Should they not have only charged me for 10 minutes and the other 32 minutes removed from my free minutes? I have emailed them, will let you know what their reply is. If anyone else has had this happen to them or know what the policy is on this, let me know.

Haven't read their contract terms but Orange state that the call is charged according to the time in which it is initiated, unless you start during "free-time" and go over, in which case the part of the call that should be chargeable is billed.
Obviously they phrase it slightly better than that though

ah crap! Just what I didnt want to hear, thanks anyways though Dave, im guessing it could be the same with o2 then. I will wait for a reply to the email I sent to o2. If I remember right, this wasnt the case with T-mobile, another disadvantage of movin to o2!

Never mind mate, unlike T-Mobile (and my own SP, Orange) you don't have to live with a horrible branded phone, so don't feel too bad!

ah okay, thanks guys. I shall just have to learn from my mistakes! I keep forgetting that my minutes now start at 7 as opposed to 6 on T-mobile. Yeah, thats the one of the reasons I moved to o2 - unbranded phones, better reception and 500txts!

part of a reply to my email to them: "I would like to inform you that if a call is initiated in peak hours and goes on to offpeak hours it will be charged at peak rates. And if a call is initiated in offpeak hours and goes on in peak hours it will be charged at offpeak rates." - works both ways it seems...
