Hi

Got my s700 and I fancy encoding an episode of the simpsons and sticking it on the phone

Whats the best piece of software to convert an mpeg or avi to a watchable format?

Try using mpegable X4 live. It's pretty easy to do something nice and productive in a few minutes!
