If you can roam with the new V800 are there any Japanese handsets you can roam globally with? Is there a phone you can purchase in Japan that can be used in the UK?

the 802se, which is the japanese version of the v800, will be able to be used in all of vodfone's 3G networks, and roam gsm everywhere. it does need the vodafone japan usim card, however, to be able to do this.
it is not launched yet in japan; probaby early december japan launch.
also, the z1010 can be used in japan with a vodafone japan usim card, and can roam abroad on 3G networks.

Also Niji, how does your Z1010 compare to the other handsets available in Japan?

Does this mean Vodaphone and NTTDocomo are in direct competition with each other to win 3G customers Globally?
Vodaphone seem to have a head-start even on these guys.

www.attwireless.com/mmode and the favorite it that you can view traffic jams and roads via GPS or VIa WAP its pretty cool but i hate apps that you have to refresh via online content.

i purchased the z1010 in hkg through 3 hong kong. it is not a fone that is offered by vodafone in japan. to answer yr question on how the z1010 performs in japan: voice no problem, however, it is very complicated to set up the email gateways for email and things like that. i do not recommend the z1010 for 3g data services in japan if you want to use a vodafone japan usim. i still have not found out how to access vodafone live! japan services using the z1010.
