> SonyEricsson Theme Creator for V800 ?
Bookmark topic
Hi,
Do you know if a new version of Theme Creator exists and include V800 support?
It's the same dsiplay resolution than K700, so do you know if K700's theme are compatible to V800 ?
Thanx

I don't think that there is yet support in Themes Creator especially as Vlammetje said that it is totally new way of doing/implementing themes.

there is no theme creator yet.
My biggest fear right now is that there might not be one till after Voda's exclusive contract is used up.
It's not a 'whole new' way of theming, but the V800 supports 2 types of themes.
The first one,

theme version 3.2 is the type with the 'flying balls' and animated menus. This theme is hard to replicate and not to be used for personal themes, as you cannot have images and 'flying bals' together in one window... at least not as far as I can see.
The other theme, the one I use for my own themes, is much like the build of a Z1010 theme. All images are the same dimensions as the components for Z1010 themes anyway.
But Z1010 themes are 'version 3.0' (like all previous

themes voor

UI) and V800 uses

version 3.1 themes.
It is built very much in the same way, except that you need to include the external screen in your theme, either with an image or with colours. Size of the external screen is 101 px high and 80 px wide.
I'll post an example of an .xml file later on.

Ah, so the theme you made was made for which phone?

I make 'double themes' for the time being. I make all images for the V800 theme (including external screen) but I use the Z1010 theme creator to make sure my colours work out and I ca read the text on my menus and to have a preview and all that. Gotta use what I have after all
Net result is that I end up with 2 themes, one for Z1010 and one for V800, as I copy all the colours over from the .xml file for the Z1010-theme to the one I have to write for the V800-theme
Hope that makes sense. It's a bit tedious but it works

What we have seen right now is that images for the external screen are not properly supported in the V800 (firmware R1D003). It looks like a bug in the phone. SE should investigate this.

yeah I noticed that too
But I include it in the themes regardless, as the .xml file is good as far as I can see and the external screen needs to be in i anyway, so might as well add an image and hope bug number one will be fixed soon
As with previous themes, all parts need to be included, even if it's only with a background colour, but it can never be left out.
The external screen does not leave much room for images anyway

Forgot to say: I do not think 3.1 themes are backwards compatible. In any case if they were, they would only be compatible with Z1010 as the K700 theme components actually have
different dimensions even if the full screen is the same size.

Vlammetje; You can put a 3.1-theme in a K700 if You want to. (you can send 3.1 themes from V800 directly to it).

yeah but it'll be like K700 themes in a Z1010 and vice versa now: distorted.
Reason is:
The parts are not the same size and the phone will stretch or shrink them accordingly. This will not look good when your standby screen consists of one image that fills statusbar, wallpaper and softkeys images.
Same goes for menu background. The V800 and Z1010 have a smaller one than the K700. The K700 would stretch it to fit.... it might not matter but it might look really bad, depending on what background the theme has.
