> P800 diverts to message bank too quickly
Bookmark topic
Hi all - firstly, great forum, and a great resource - thanks in advance.
I have had my P800 for some time now, but for some reason some settings have changed (maybe due to the firmware update?).
Nonetheless, all calls divert to message bank after approx 5-10 seconds, no longer. I have called my provider and they have changed settings from their end twice now, allowing a maximum of 30 second ring time. Even with these changes, it still goes to message bank. I have looked right through all the settings in Control Panel, etc, but cannot find the cause.
Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated.
Many thanks

by message bank you mean voicemail, right? i always thought it was down to the network how long rings lasted before diverting to voicemail. afaik no phone has a setting that allows the user to determine how long it rings for.

Yes, I am sorry, voicemail. Yes, I have been advised that too...do you reckon it could be a faulty handset?
Thanks

i doubt it.
its more likely your fool network saying the settings have been changed but are still the same. youre not on 02 by any chance?

If you are in the uk try this (i know it works for Vodafone but i dont know about any other networks)
First you will need your
Personal Mailbox Number
So dial *#104# and send you will then get a message with your number
Once you have your number dial **61*
Personal Mailbox Number*10*
The Desired Delay Time (from 5 to 30 seconds in increments of 5 seconds)# and send
Lets say your number is 123456789 and you want it to ring for 30 seconds before going to your voicemail then you would dial
**61*
123456789*10*
30# and send

Thanks to all. I had my provider (Optus in Australia) put the delay on for 30 seconds twice, and nothing has happened. I am at a loss!!!
