Pro duo sticks can have upto 1GB of memory and are apparently faster than the standard duo sticks, unless i am mistaken.

The official website is a bit confusing and not explaining clearly.
On summary : Memory Stick can be differentiated into two PHYSICAL FORM and 2 type of FILE SYSTEM :
Memory Stick came in two physical form :
a. "Standard" form (no particular name, labeled just Memory Stick) : approx. like Wrigleys buble gum.
b. "Duo" form (Memory Stick DUO) : smaller and shorter, approx 1/3 standard form.
And 2 type of File Systems :
a. "Standard" file system (no particular name, labeled just Memory Stick), maximum capacity of 128MB
b. "Pro" file system (PRO), it replaces the lack capacity of standard file systems. Support up to 1 GB currently. Unfortunately PRO file system is not compatible with standard file system due to its new logical memory addressing. You cannot use memory stick pro in memory stick-only slot. Check the printed label on the device.
Added technology such as :
a. "Magic Gate" (MAGIC GATE), hardware-dependent data encryption to protect multimedia content and other copyrighted content. Any kind of file that had been encrypted with Magic Gate can only be copied into Magic Gate-capable Memory Stick.
b. "Select" file systems (SELECT), hardware-wise resolution for the standard file system so the capacity can be doubled through a hardware selector. Think of it like cassette tape, you can record on both sides (2 X 128 MB) but you CANNOT use it at the same time for both sides. It never showed as 256 MB, you have to use a selector pin on the Memory Stick surface to select which side you want to use.
In conclusion, Memory Stick came in various combination of physical forms and file systems plus the added technology. Example :
a. Memory Stick : almost as big as Wrigleys buble gum, max 128 MB
b. Memory Stick PRO : almost as big as Wrigleys buble gum, max 1 GB currently
c. Memory Stick PRO MAGIC GATE : almost as big as Wrigleys buble gum, max 1 GB currently with data encryption/
d. Memory Stick SELECT : almost as big as Wrigleys buble gum, max 2 X 128 MB
e. Memory Stick DUO : 1/3 size of Wrigleys, max 128 MB
f. Memory Stick PRO DUO : 1/3 size of Wrigleys, max 1 GB currently
g. Memory Stick PRO DUO MAGIC GATE : 1/3 size of Wrigleys, max 1 GB currently with data encryption
h. Memory Stick SELECT, Memory Stick SELECT MAGIC GATE, and so on....
Please be understand that not all combination will available - it depends on Sony or other 3rd party vendor. But you will get the picture when you reading the label printed on it.
Hope it helps.

The duo pro is up to 1gb but speed theoretically cannot be faster since that depends on the device itself and not the ms.

spicerman :
the label on P900 says Memory Stick DUO, it means up to 128 MB capacity in the form of approx 1/3 wrigleys buble gum.
Only P910 supports Memory Stick PRO DUO. Rest of mobile phones from Sony Ericsson currently only support Memory Stick DUO- that is P800, P900 and S700.
