Hello,
Ive been a big fan of Sony ericsson phones simply because they are beautiful pieces of design both with the styling of the products and the actual user interface.
Ive lusted over a P900 for ages and finally snapped one up. What really surprises me is how ugly the user interface is, right down to the font. As soon as I turn the phone on I feel like the interface is a bit of a let down. It just doesnt feel professional and the icons look like crayon drawings rather than the beautifully crafted icons of the K700 / S700. Does anyone agree?
I guess Im a bit predantic of these sort of things being a designer myself but Im just suprised. I will look at installing tracker!!

I also think the p9 icons and picture quality are quite poor,but the phone functionality makes up for it.install sman 1.3 from my-symbian..It's a really good freeware app!

hi,
well P900 is using Symbian UIQ2 (i am not the fan of how it look also). software in S/K series of phones is developed by Sony Ericsson and is "newer generation" than UIQ2. Take a look at new UIQ3 which some phoes use and future SE phones based on Symbian will use:

The P910 icons are beautifull. In fact they are the same as the K700 you are comparing with!

Ya, recent date of production always is related to a "fashioned" interface. Anyway, UIQ of P800 is pretty good for me. I love mac and so on but whit a little machine in hands I prefer performance, power consumption n size to a beauty face

I totaly agree, they have seemed to have gone to be trendy maybe more than proffesional.
There's also Theme editor which will also allow you to design your own.

I meant S700, the phone in the pic. Sorry.
If they are not the same, they are close enough.
The point is that comparing the icon design of a last generation phone with an old phone makes no sense.
