Hi all,

- Configurable "operator logo" - you can display your own text, the upcoming calendar event, or the network status
- Display of geographical position
- Enhanced time and date display
- Graphical system information icons showing background program count, free memory and drive space, battery and signal strength, and more
- Cleaning up system resources to maximize free memory and battery life
- Support for dialing, call list and starting other flip closed applications
- Large digit clock screensaver
FrontView has entered public beta test today, Nov 16. You are invited to try the program which is downloadable from
http://cellphonesoft.com. Please send comments to the beta support Email address
support@cellphonesoft.com.
Thanks and enjoy the program!

Installed it on my P910i. Looks great and is quite useful! Only 1 major and 2 minor gripes.
1st major gripe is the 24hr clock. I'm sure it's great to learn military time, but I still prefer my AM and PM's. Did I miss something or does this beta only operate on the 24-hr clock time display?
1st minor gripe is the "Cleanup" feature. I know it's supposed to clean up... it'd be great if there was an implementation for "selective" clean up. Sometimes there are programs that I want to run in the background that weren't designated as "system" apps.. ie. S&W SMS Tones. Hence if I push "Cleanup", I'll have to restart this program again as it get killed in the process. I'm looking for a feature not unlike that of SMan's snapshot, where you can pick what should stay and what should be cleaned up.
2nd minor gripe is possibly in future versions an option for the font/display color. Currently, "yellow" is okay, but it would be a nice feature if the user could choose a color that matched whatever motif they have going on with the Phone.
Aside note:
Oh and if you have the default Power save: set to "Clock" or "Blank" you won't be able to see Frontview's 'Screensaver Clock' as the phone's default Power Save option takes priority. So user's will have to turn Power Save to "Off"
*edited* Added:
Also I just noted that Application Shortcuts on FC mode, (you know the 5 fancy icons that you can hide and control with the scroll wheel) is no longer accessible when FrontView is active, regardless of whether you have the "checkmark" or not in the 'Shortcuts always displayed:' box. I'm not sure was this also an intended feature, or something that has yet to be worked out?
Alright with that being said! Keep up the great work.. the product looks extremely promising! It looks like something I'd defintely want when its further refined!

btw I dunno about sw licensing here in Sri Lanka, but I suppose you used a free C development program, or you have bought Metrowerks? I don't want to be arrested for illegal sw. Any comments?

Thanks for the announcement, will try it out when I have time later this evening. One thing I really miss on my P800 is a clock in screensaver mode.

Nice and very promising, but although I was warned by the makers indeed it does not work correctly on the P800. I have the feeling that the most important information is placed just under my flip and is therefore quite useless.
Request to the makers for a p800 version because I would already want the thing for it's big clock.

It doesnt sound to me like it provides any USEFUL function!
Can someone, before I download it, tell me why its worth having? It seems all it does is stop things working!
