Hi,
I have a problem. I have my emails set to download via GPRS automatically 15mins. However when the message is being downloaded or the phone has GPRS traffic I cannot receive phone calls. The same thing happens if I am browsing with Opera -> All voices calls are redirected to voicemail.
Is there a way to resolve this? I have tried the settings Automatic, GSM only, GPRS only, but neither seemed to work.
Please help.
Thanks

Hi, i am not sure for Pxxx, but in K700 you have am option to choose GPRS priority in settings. But in my experience if there is lot of data transfered your phone will be unavaliable so if your divert is set up to voicemail when unavaliable it will be diverted.

Hi Sintax
I'm sorry to say this, but read the manual. There's a section in there about enabling phone calls when GPRS is active.
If you can't find the manual

the option is in Control Panel - Internet accounts - Other - Preferred mode: Automatic (to switch between them when a phone call comes in)

yes I know, I mentioned it in the post. However it does not work. I have it set to Automatic, but whenever I am on the net using opera or downloading my mail, the GPRS session is not suspended, therefore the call is redirected to my voicemail. I have tried setting it to GSM only, no luck there either.
Any ideas?

Hi Sintax,
Don't you just love smug posts that are wrong?!
I believe the "manual" refers to allowing phone calls while GPRS is active, however whilst data is actually being transmitted over the connection, you will not be able to receive voice calls, irrespective of your settings.
I'm surprised, though, that if you've selected GSM only, your mail still downloads. I guess it must be using a CSD data account.
Hope that clears it up for you, if not being entirely the answer you wanted!

actually I use GPRS. It turns on GPRS when the send/receive is done and then reconnects. I do not use CSD since I have GPRS with 200MB quota which is more than enough. It's just a little annoying that people cannot call me when I am browsing the net or downloading email. I think SE should look into this, since as I recall my K700 and my 6230 was able to suspend the GPRS session whenever a call came in, so this is entirely the P900/P910's fault.

I have mine set to GSM only, I can get phone calls even when data is being transfer. Only draw back to this is you might lose data when calls comes in.
