> P910i - dodgy deal -final update

There is a guy on eBay selling 30 P910's and 20 Samsung P730's for £250 and £220 respectively. All brand new/unlocked and a 20% discount for more than one. He has no feedback although he has replied to my emails with what looks like a standard reply? Anyone else seen this and think there is something fishy? About 2.5 hours left to go before auction ends.

He lists himself from Hampshire which is where I come from. I have emailed him about a face to face deal, if he is from here, but await a reply. If he is a scammer, that will no doubt put him off bigtime!
Only eight people have made bids and he has has protected his buyers identify. Is this to stop me emailing them and asking questions ie another scam trick?
If it was true, surely he would have his hand bit off at that price?

A face-to-face meet is safer as u definately get the goods but if they are stolen they could then get barred & ur stuck with a useless device.
It all sounds a bit off to me & I'd forget it, if he refuses the to meet then u should report it to ebay as a scam

Also, he has not answered one of the questions I asked him about locality so perhaps more are going to get burnt after the auction ends. How does he go about selling the other 49 phones for those who got outbid, private aution/email? He is selling a total of 50 phones for a total of nearly £12,000.
Makes you wonder how it all works! Hope it's not a scam but really sounds dodgy.

If he's selling 50 of them and only has 8 bids them he'll have 42 to re-list, just add him to your favourate sellers list and see what feedback the 8 buyers leave, if he's genuine you'll see him relist the other phones soon and he will have feedback in a week or so so just wait and see. But they sound stolen to me.

If we never hear from him again, it was either a scam and someone's going to lose £460 or as you say, he will relist. But why the private buyer bit? What do you achieve by doing this? Is it to stop you looking at feedback names when they come up on his feedback rating?
Glad I steered clear of it all. I do want a P910 but I want either my hard earned money or the phone, I don't want to lose both.
A lesson for us all!

Hiding the buyers identity is what made of think they were stolen, you wouldn't want ppl to know you had been buying stolen goods when they check your feedback ;-) , when you look at feedback you'll see the feedback but instead of the item number it will say 'private', it's often used on suspicious auctions like pirate films or software and porn.

I got a similar email from a guy who said that if can get p900's for around £150. Which sounds great. He have me a link to his website. It looked a bit dodge. He explained that he stores his phones in spain! I dont know why that information was necessary! But i was advised to steer clear!
