Hi

I noticed that the problem with using TTF fonts is that they were not made for small font display (15 pixels high) without antialias.
In these sizes they are unpredictable, look too "dented" and are slow.
The sytem fonts are bitmaped not TTF.
Windows also supports bitmap fonts. They are in the WindowsFonts*.fon

Is it possible SMan use .fon files besides .ttf fonts?
These should look much better.

Thanks

PS: Yes, I tried the Search...

@_LAU_:

Sorry, SMan can only support TrueType fonts.

If you read the other thread on sman fonts, I've posted a cut down version of Nine.ttf from Microsoft Smartphone phones, ie designed for phone screens. This works well other than the small size font, in bold, looks slightly awkard, but not a big problems.

I think it works beautifully, and i don't notice any great slowdown - at least nothing i can't cope with.

On a related note - i've noticed that running any 3rd party input software (i use popontop, but seethru, and "nice keyboard") all slow down screen updates. disabling or using the internal input programs (vitual keyboard etc) are much faster - swings and roundabouts!
