It certainly sounds as if SE are going to focus on the 3G market, perhaps even to the exclusion of the 2.5G market.

Why? Any company will hope that their products will do well. The S700 certainly seems to be doing rather well, it's looks are probably what is selling it, along with the camera.

I think the S700 is a really good handst. The price doesn't bother me as all handsets end up cheaper than they do on the company website what with network operator discounts etc.
Dont forget, it is attractive handsets that decide whether a customer changes their service provider or not.
@Scotsboy. So all handsets will be 3G eventually. Is 1G still around and wasn't that the analogue service?

well other ppl will buy it but ppl in esato that have a k series phonw will not upgrade to the s700i unless they are desprate and if they are smart they will not move up one model. but over all the s700 is a good phone i just think it will do no good to ppl who have th k700i and it looks like to me everone almost has a k700i
