Currently (as of iSync v1.5 and Mac OS X 10.3.6) the Sony Ericsson V800 isn't officially supported by Apple.
However, Jonas Salling (of
Salling Clicker fame) has posted the following instructions as a workaround to enable iSync compatibility.
Salling Clicker will be updated for V800 soon too.
Phase 1:
1. Quit iSync
2. In Terminal, type:
sudo pico /System/Library/SyncServices/BTConduit.bundle/Contents/Resources/BTConduit_phones.plist
3. Follow the existing pattern in the file, adding:
Sony Ericsson--separator--AAD-3021011-BV
bttool
4. Save the file (ctrl-O)
5. Quit (ctrl-X)
Phase 2:
6. Remove the pairing information from both your V800 and your Mac. i.e, remove the V800 from your Mac's list of paired devices (*not* from Favorites), and remove your Mac from the phone's list of Bluetooth devices.
7. Initiate pairing *from* your V800. After repeating the authentication key on your Mac, a service panel should pop up (on the Mac). Here, an iSync option should be available.
8. Now open iSync (it may take a minute for the new phone/V800 to show)
Sometimes, things will fail at step 7 (service dialog doesn't show). In that case, try repeating from step 6, possibly keeping iSync open at the same time.
This works for me. Of course, your mileage may vary. The V800 is not officially supported by iSync, and I'm not responsible for any ensuing Address Book mayhem.

Do you happen to know when this update will be? That would be useful to know!
Mac OS X 10.3.7 has already been seeded to developers, but no Bluetooth enhancements are listed in the release notes.

If you connect the V800 to your Mac with the USB cable, the phone will mount as a USB mass storage device on the desktop.
Also, the phone appears as a camera to iPhoto, and pictures taken with the phone can be imported, just as if the phone was a normal digital camera.

Shame they couldnt make the camera on the V800 work like the Isight..I know a few Jap phones offer that now but I havent heard of it on osx. I managed to sync my v800 fine with my powerbook no problems, I didnt need to enter the above string. It gives it the same pciture that the Z1010 had.
