Need HELP!!!
Which one do I have to buy for USA T-Mobile:
P910a (with 900/1800/1900)
or P910i (with 850/1800/1900)
And another question:
If in the future I'm going to switch to Cingular, which bands do they use???
Thanks in advance...

Get the one that supports 850 band... T-Mobile uses 1900 and Cingular uses 850. I don't know what AT&T uses, but this might be useful information since AT&T and Cingular are merging.

First off you have the bands backwards for the handsets. P910a supports 850mhz whereas the P910i has the traditional European band range. The logical thing is to get the handset that supports the most accessible bands that are present in your country. From what I know some carriers (ie Cingular, ATT) in the states primarily support 850mhz band or at least makes it available in regions where traditional GSM bands don't work. This is a no brainer.

It's the P910a with GSM 850/1800/1900 that you will need - The P910i has GSM 900/1800/1900. The launch article below should explain

Just wanted to throw this out there...I have a P800 that is 900/1800/1900 only, and I have AT&T/Cingular, and it works fine without the 850 band, so if you switch to Cingular the "i" would prolly work but it may depend on the area you live in.

That's right.. A lot of Pxxx users in Georgia w/ Cingular coverage have been battling issues with their GSM handsets for 2 yrs now because some portions of the state only have a 850mhz band. With that said, it seems like the 850mhz band is the one that ATT/Cingular will concentrate on expanding to remote areas. Hence the reason SE is distributing phones with 850mhz compatibility.

I use my P900 in Georgia on Cingular and T-Mobile. Works fine; I assume it is the 1900MHz band because, as far as I know, there is no 900MHz in the US and the P900 does not support 850MHz.
As well as GA, I have also used the P900 in CA, AZ, NV, FL and NY.
If you're planning to travel to Europe much, get the P910i as it will offer you substantially more international roaming flexibility.

T-mobile uses exclusively the 1900band.
ATT/Cingular uses the 850/1900 band. ATT/Cingular is overlaying the 850 with the 1900 band. The 850 is farther reaching and of higher quality in terms of reception. Also Cingular is expanding (using it more and more) the 850 band.
To chose the right phone I would consider the following:
If you live and travel mostly in the US and want to have the most coverage, then the 850/1800/1900 P910a on Cingular is for you.
If you want good coverage in the US plus you want to travel abroad Caribbean/Europe/India for example and want to use your phone then I would choose the 900/1800/1900 P910i on T-mobile. With T-mobile you can roam on Cingulars network, but not vise versa.
Many places outside the US use the 900 band. There is no 850 really outside the US and I do not consider it a GSM frequency.
Summary it all depends on your travel habits.
Me personally I use the P900 with 900/1800/1900 on T-mobile and are pretty happy with it. I travel internationally and sometimes use the 900 band. And because T-mobile has the best customer service I am not planning ever to switch to Cingular anyway.
