Think that now SE have a nice range of mobile phones
(from J200, K500, Z500, K700, V800 to P910),
soon will come great, clamshell version from K700 and future "K900",
but again think that SE desperate need at least two more models, and that is a concurrent for Nokia 3230 (lets call him)
PK500 who will have Symbian OS, MSD pro, BT, 1.3 cmos camera (not touch screen) etc.
And
R500 who will be a concurrent for Nokia 5140 and Siemens M65 and will be something like K500 + dust and water protector, light, termometar, dB metar etc.
Would you buy such
phones if they hit the market?

SE can become the market leader within 2years, if they want to. they know what phones they are missing, they know much more then you think.
they just don't want to push themselfs, they don't want to work hard, i even think they're abit affraid of becomming number 1. or they've got some less qualified people working at SE

that company really needs a good and new and radical move... why not telling to people their roadmap for next 2 years... why not telling to people (maybe because they have no idea themselves) about naming phones... I would open my cards and listen to people:
Fxxx series phones are top class business candybars phones fe.: F900 is quad band GSM phone and F9000 is UMTS/GSM phone... They are planned for 1st half of 2005 and their life cycle is 1 year. In first half of 2006. we will intriduce their suceedors F910 and F9100... that way people knows what and where!?!
Kxxx series phones is mid level consumer phone fe. K700 and K7000... and their suceedors will be K910 and K9100
Jxxx series is entry level... J500 and J5000
Zxxx series phones are clamshell phones ZF900 and ZF9000 and than ZK700 and ZK7000 and of course ZJ500 and ZJ5000
Pxxx series smartphones P920 and P9200 and P500 and P5200...
Vxxx for Vodafone, Txxx for T-mobile, Oxxx for Orange etc...
Don't get this for real. It is just my point of view and how I would do it

I don't know if they need such phones. They had an all-weather model once (the one with the shark fin).
I have seen that swiss-knife Nokia and was impressed, nice product.
But does it fit in the line of SE? They don't have to be nr one. They have to get their product line straight. Design and technical advantage do not have to go with this type of special products. For me they should stick to balancing on the tech - design line.
Because I doubt if those extra features really are top-notch. If not then they are just a toy, and that is something Nokia can get away with but SE not.
I'm surprised that Siemens, the business-business-business grey brand, makes such sporty mobiles.
In fact, this is a kind of product for another brand, something in the sports-world, that now also makes phones, or for a joint effort, like "SE W500 by the northface" to combine the values of the brands
could go on for an other hour but you all probably stopped reading this anyway

Weird, that many posts here start to compare another brand fone with an se. Do u think, that se is still "behind" the others?

Boba
SE can't be behind when don't have such a product at all,
and for those that have is not behind
The real question is If this product can make any many for SE,
I think that Yes, expecialy Symbian phone that is lower class and less expensive than today P-series,
and for that "all weather" model, wouldn't be to expensive to made if is based on K500, and think that have they own costumer group.

an all weather phone is a high demand phone when its designed nicely.
bluetooth should've been in every mid level phone by now.
but no, cause maby people could by more bluetooth products, and companies could have more profit, so investors would expect even more profit next Q
