Hey Kooks,

Thanks for the super fast reply mate. Im in Australia and my firmware atm is "R2E011". Im guessing the last firmware on that link you supplied me with is the newest? Is this the firmware which is avaliable in one of the links on this forum?

This sometimes happens to my K700i when I use GPRS. I have R2AA003 firmware.

Not really mate. Unless you have a DSS-20/25 or a data cable there isn't much you can do.
It won't allow you to update the firmware over bluetooth for obvious reasons.

And yes, the last one is the latest and greatest! Just check which operator your with as I'm with O2 here in the UK and they have blocked us from updating our phones! (the arses)

I'm not sure if this would help but this exact symptoms happened to my phone once when I was sending a picture message.

The picture message failed at first try and was automatically saved in the Drafts folder. I accidentally erased the picture that I included in that picture message and when I tried to resend that picture message my phone began blinking with white screen and then returned to the standby mode (wallpaper) and indicated "searching".

I suspect that there must be some files that you use somewhere in your phone that got erased/corrupted. Try to check your themes/wallpaper, contact pictures, ringtones if they're all OK.

Hope that helps.

Hey guys,

Yeah i will have to buy that data cable this weekend and get it updated..but could i go to a service centre and save myself afew dollars? As the cables are $70-100AUD here.

The phone started crashing when i deleted my "sent items" in my message folder..so that might be the problem?.. At the moment its still crashing..but thats only when it goes into the "Keypad Lock" mode..So what i have done is put it in the "Call Log" enu and when in this menu it never crashes..Alothugh it can be a pain if left in your pocket and anonymously calling peopel from your list..

thanks for the help

Richard

Yes i advise that you should get it updated at a service center, you could buy a dss-20/25 and do it that way but it might not let you (like o2).

Go to your service center and get it done, your phone should be under warrenty still so there for it should be free
