> Is there a fuzzy spot on your S700 pictures ?

Hi there I recently bought a S700 and Im loving it, except that all pictures of subjects farther than 3 or 4 meters away become fuzzy in one spot towards the middle of the picture slightly to the left.

A good example is the front rim on the Benz in the DSC00109 picture.
I went to my local service provider here in Iceland and pretty much got this responce.
"Well its more a phone than it is a camera" so you should except that little fault.
I know its not a big deal but considdering the price of the phone/camera I would like it to be at least good.

Have you tried re-taking the picture under the same conditions? This might simply be a fluke; I can't see any noticable blurring in the other pictures. There are various explanations as to why there is a blurring in that picture, and one of them is that your S700's camera may be faulty, but I would suggest that you try and exhaust othe rposisbilities first. Take the picture again with the same conditions, repeat this several times and compare the results.

If you roll through the pictures you can see that most of them have a slight blurr at the same spot...
Its actually much more visible when viewing the pics full quality.
Example: The first pic. The difference between the licence plates of the two cars is quite obious and I took 5 pis there a few minutes ago and all of them have a fuzzy plate on the left car.
Unless I position the left car on the right side of the picture then the plate looks great

i think you should return it back from where u purchase it and demand for a non-faulty one. btw, have u tried cleaning ur lens? i figured that its all in the same spot...maybe it might just be dirty...gud luck!

It is not any flaws or bad firmware... this kind of effect is wat they call it.. auto focus or micro _____ i forgot the term... they focus the object which is nearer so the rest will be like wat u said flozzy or blurred... and u hv the option to choose wether u wanna focus to the object near u or away frm you eg. background. U can see this effect in most movies... try seeing one movie and u can see the background is blurred and only the actors are clear/sharp.. if u dont like it.. i think u can disable it...

O2 are you thinking of fixed focus but it is not about that actually.
It is more blurry at a very certain point so it might be a faulty one

The thing thats really bad is that tech support at Siminn, my local SE service center, said "its more of a phone than a camera". Meaning that I should accept these kind of problems!!!
