hey all, basically when i connect my laptop to my s700 using the Se networking wizard to connect. I get connected at 115kbps. but was wondering will o2 charge me for this, as currently i am not getting charged for gprs usage on my s700 phone (using the port 8080) btw this is a contract phone.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't believe O2's free GPRS offer covers GPRS usage when used as a modem. The 115 kbps rate you mention is not the S700's GPRS connection, it is the connection between your S700 and your laptop.
Have you checked to se eif the number you are dialing is correct, this may be why you are having problems accessing the internet.

When you initiate the dial-up networking there should be a dialog box asking you for a username, password and number, which will be something along the lines of '*99***CIDx#', where 'x' is the number corresponding to the GPRS account, on your mobile, you are using to connect.

i am using 99***CID2# using o2 gprs setting APN (wap.o2.co.uk), i didnt enter this in the box as i assume se netowrking will do it as i selected to connect via the gprs apb. but it still wont let me conenct to anything other than o2.co.uk
