If your phone is currently network locked you will need

1 credit to unlock
1 credit to debrand/update firmware

Davinci and Totalserver then say it's free to update firmware after that. This is true, HOWEVER you need to have a credit in order to make your firmware update final and get the phone working!!!

As far as i'm aware you cannot yet use the DSS syncstation other than with the SE US update service.

all have advantages /disadvantages
Totalserver is the most popular but can tend to crash mid flash - can only update k700 to R2AA CID 29 which then won't work with the sony update service

Davinci is the next best which allows you to flash k700 R2L or R2AA and still use the update service.

Davinci also silences the camera shutter sound when in silent mode.

I know nothing about Universalbox so if anyone tries it let us know how it goes!

1. another one that is more of universal solution, but also works as remote server is Griffin and works in its new version with new SE phones.

2. far the best is DaVinci Server, because people that are doing it are pros. and know why and what they are doing. For me more important is who does it the best and not who does it first! Too many unresolved issues with TMS and even when I tried to point out some things to TMS Team they didn't care. So why should I?

3. I had some contact with Universal Box guys, but didn't try them as they didn't want to give any test logs and they are selling only for 100€ and more. And I am not in demand for 200 logs

4. Far the best solution is to visit your official SE Service Center to do the flashing / software upgrade or to call your network operator for code to unlock the phone.

Just let people know, standalone tools are starting to include the new phone support, so this is another option if people are confident in doing the upgrade themselves.

That's right, but I am not really sure how soon/fast will standalone solutions will be able to deal with new protections SE implemented. FE. Griffin is standalone solutions, but uses remote server for some procedures. Also Fighter is standalone solution, didn't yet implement support for new phones, but may also use a remote server for some procedures.

I have a Z1010, and I want to upgrade the firmware, and install new language pack. This cost`s one credit.

Do I have to pay one credit as well to establish what "CID NUMBER" my phone is?

And also, when it comes to Z1010, it only lists Z1010 RED...and not Z1010 SILVER..

I have a silver. Do I have 2 worry?

I bought a data cable from Active mobiles and find that it doesn't work.
I've tried installing and re-installing with and without the drivers it came with. It charges my phone, but nothing else seems to happen.

Anyone got any ideas? Davinci server isn't recognizing the cable....

check your cable, you might got a data cable...

if you have access to dss-25 (cradle of P900/910) you can use it with davinci
