When I navigate the menus and wap sites, I push and hold downward on the joystick to scroll down. Lately i noticed that sometimes the scrolling continues, despite me letting go of the joy. Is this a software issue, or possibly a hardware one? This message was posted from a K700

I had the exact same problem,as if the joy was being held in the downward position.it seemed to happen VERY regularly on this site for some strange reason!the next problem you will most likely face,is the joystick becoming idle on the downward contact. This message was posted from a T68i

was the page still loading when you tried to scrol. cause it happens to me sometimes when i try to scroll while its loading. also today i droped the phone and the joy stick was being retarded and i had to push it hard to get it to do what i want. but its not doing that now.

@neonismo

I don't think that this is a problem at all. What is probably happening is that when you are holding the joystick down to scroll through a menu or webpage you are actually giving the mobile instructions to scroll down so many times. If you were to tap the joystick down once it would go down once, twice then twice, etc. If you hold the joystick down then it should keep scrolling until you let go, but you may be inadvertently giving it the equivalent of a few taps in addition to telling it to scroll down continously until you let go.

@scotsboy..when it scrolls,it seems to be extremely fast...in fact,much faster than holding the joystick down for the same effect.i'm inclined to think It's a software issue(or maybe memory related),but it only ever seemed noticeable on esato wml forums! This message was posted from a T68i

For fast scroll i always use the volume buttons. Its recomanded to wait til the page is full downloaded, to scroll aslong loading could freeze the fone. This message was posted from a T68i

@k700nut

In that case you may very well be correct.

I assumed it would be a sw issue, its good to hear similar experiences! The down action is the most performed action; menu nav, wap surfing, t9 input. Lets hope SE made it tough enough! This message was posted from a K700i

I used to shrug off the "fast scrolling problem"feeling it wasn't a big problem.however,i do feel the k7 is going to be an expensive phone to maintain..once It's 12month warranty period has expired...certainly in relation to joystick deficiencies anyway.the k7 was excellent features and screen/audio wise,but only 4 month from expired warranty,i'm glad It's gone! Think the joy is way too sensitive, a 5 moves one would be enough to avoid such a faulty imo. This message was posted from a T68i
