> Using P900 as a modem for my pc
Bookmark topic
Hi
I have a P900 which has just been updated from the SE site . I also have a bluetooth connection on my PC and the DSS 25 sync station
I have been trying to use the P900 as a modem so my PC can connect to the internet through the phone 1st trying to use the internet settings on the phone to dial up and 2nd to use an ISP anytime account to dial up but cannot connect through either bluetooth or sync station.
I have tried various programs and read various threads on a few forums but am at a loss what it can be.
Any clues out there
Many Thanks

I tried a friends NEC 616V on 3G

to connect to my PC through bluetooth and dial up through him and that seemed to work fine except i had no number to dial but it recognised the phone as a modem but it wont query the P900 phone as a modem .
Currently pulling most of my hair out due to this
Thanks

I remember that I spent a long evening to get my P900 to configure for using it as a modem with my HP omnibook 6000.
I think the secret is to turn off the sync function and then turn on the modem feature on the phone. I mostly us the infrared to connect but I know it also worked with the cradle. and I bought an Sierra Aircard 750 PC card for my notebook and it worked as well. The only hassle with the Aircard is you need to take the sim chip out of the phone to put it in the aircard, now I just use the infrared.
Try the infrared since I find that it usually finds the phone easily, then you just need to go step by step to make sure you have everything configured
