the K700 can zoom but how much depends on the resolution you have set.

take a look at the K700 section in the Answers to the most common questions on Esato Forums (FAQ style) for more details

Nokia phones do indeed support this feature and its kinda dissapointing as well as frustrating that SE phones like the k700 dont...it cant be that hard to implement such a function in the sw they already support downscaling of big snapshot pics in order to watch them full size on the 176x220 screen why not zoom into them? Perhaps in a future update? Any1 else to shed some light into this one?

ok this may not be exactly what you want but try this. Select a picture in the 'pictures' folder. Select more->use-> edit . Then select tool->zoom in . The picture has to be in the 'pictures' folder and not in the 'camera' folder . Also the resolution has to be lesser than 640 x 480.

edit : one small correction. I dont know if this works for all pics. Because i have 2 pics with 176x176 resolution and i can edit one but not the other. and the pic need not be necessarily in the 'pictures' folder as i just found out

it can be usefull, but it zooms to much (i think 5-6 times). i want a normal zoom, 2x,3x...if the fone supports the zoom in this editor, why was so hard including a zoom, like nokia has (6600,7610...)?

This is really a work around not a solution to remedy the problem...Ppl should at least have some control over the zoom factor to start with.
