Though the S700 doesn't support playlists, we can put mp3 files in different folders and play as we like.

However, I noticed that even though I named the files "file_01", "file_02", "file_03" etc... to make them play in the desired order; the sorting was different in the phone.

Could someone please suggest a solution or explain as to why this is happening...

They are sorted in the order they are put onto the phone with most recent at the top & hence play first.
You can select random sorting by pressing 'More'
