Couple of weeks ago I upgraded at SE center for R2AA003. I am able to find names in phonebook via several first letters. That is nice. But what is not nice at all is the fact that I cannot synchronize phone with pc at all (with Outlook). No way via irda, Bt. I am still able to send pictures etc.
When I am trying to upgrade or resp. downgrade fw to R2L SE update service says:
"Your deviceis not permitted to use this service
Your operator does not approve the usage of this service for this device.
We look forward to assist you again soon.
Thank you for using Sony Ericsson Update Service"
MY PHONE WAS NEVER BRANDED!
I do definately prefer being able to synchronize then finding out via few first letters in phone book!!

SE update service is not that reliable at the moment so many phones no matter if branded or unbranded are not being able to use it. There is a thread about it in Software section called List of CDAs allowing/ not allowing use of SE update service. So please check it for more info.
as for R2AA it was removed from SE server due to connectivity issues. But even if you are able to use SE update service you wouldn't be able to downgrade. You would get message: your phone software is up to date

Yeah well, maybe if u go to a SE service center they can down-firmware your phone?
