I've had no luck getting the original "Remote Control P800" to work on my P900. Is this because it's only designed for the P800, or because I'm doing something wrong?

I followed the instructions in the help file, except that typing "ipconfig /all" at the command prompt didn't actually show me any ip addresses. I tried using an ip address that I found under the blutooth network adapter settings on my computer. As long as I've got bt serial port connected, then Remote Control says 'connected' but I still get no display or control. In fact, this happens with pretty much any random ip address I put in the settings.

(The server is running and activated in the taskbar)

Any ideas anyone?

I'll try this new version tonight to see if it works any better, but there's no way I'm going to pay that much to register it, so it's a bit pointless really.

The remote controll software will work fine on p900 , i use it all the time .
You cannot put in a random ip address as the Rc server is on your pc , and you need your ip to find it ( to match the 2 together ) .
All you need to do then is add a user name and password ( the same on your rcserver((pc part)) and on the rcclient (( phone part)).
Then enter your ip number on phone ..click connect and there you have it ( leave all port settings alone)
note ...depending what pc system and weather you are using a firewall you might have to add the port number to allow firewall to let it past .
To check it for free while you are setting it up ..leave phone in dockin station as this will use your pc 's internet instead of gprs.
To find your ip go here http://www.whatismyip.com/
hope this helps ..u can download a small video of my settings to see were they go here http://www.adrianwiggins.dsl.pipex.com/rc

Y try your samples but i can't connect it. I'm trying to connect by BT, and try two IP's, one from your link and other from ipconfig, but none worked. It says "conected" but then nothing happens.

My phone is conected to the PC by BT and the PC is conected to a office LAN, i think it has a firewall.

Do you have any ideas?

Yhanks.

you cant use my ip ...you have to use your own ...you need to connect with your computer so that it can read your files etc . . your ip is like an address where your computer is ...what is the point in putting my ip address ..
If you are behind a firewall then you will have to open that port to let pc pass information to your phone .
And unless your sure you have got a connection with bluetooth i would use the docking station ...its one less thing you have to worry about while trying to connect

Hmmm, I can connect through the cradle, bluetooth, wap etc without a problem but I can only view and navigate around my desktop but not actually interact with it.

Is this a trial limitation?
