> SE Phones - Ideas for Improvement
Bookmark topic
I was routing through some old draft emails and came across some notes I made for improvements on the T610 I picked up sometime back... Reading through my notes I realise that some may well have been addressed by the K700i and presumbly the S700i... (my next purchase... can't wait for payday!)
So Sony Ericsson - if you are listening...
Make Connections settings for Bluetooth dependent on Profile so that when you are In the Office - Bluetooth is off by default but switches on when you switch to "In Car" it is on by default... nb. this would save on battery drainage for those of us who tend to leave it switched on all the time.
Make Themes / Wallpaper / Display / Screen Saver dependent on Profiles - there by automatically switching to our favourite profiles throughout the day as we switch profiles and not just whenever we get bored of our current media settings and fancy a change...
Facility to use our own sounds as alarms / ringtones and alerts... allow for longer Alert sounds so we get a chance to hear them
Implement a reminder for Alerts so when a Text comes in it bleeps but also continues to bleep a reminder periodically until acknowledged. Allow option to switch reminder on or off and change the interval at which you would want to be reminded. If I don't hear a text as it arrives then there is nothing to prompt me to check my phone again.
Ability to remove factory supplied pics & sounds we don't like but are restored on phone reset - I get fed up of scrolling through them
Ability to create own menu, add and remove options which are in essence your shortcuts and add facility to implement it as the default menu with the last option being one to invoke the default supplied menu. Allow more than 9 options on menu by automatically scrolling down to see more rather than a series of sub-menus buried deep
Switching Magic Word on and off is buried and I can't even get to it quickly as a shortcut - nor do I want to replace the Magic Word every time I use the facility so why prompt me to replace it everytime - it's annoying - I want an on off option and a separate replace option should I so wish to do so at some point - reality is that once set I am unlikely to change it so why prompt me every time
Status displays my number that I should already know... and the model which I already know... memory used and free would be good... estimated talk time and standby time left would also be good..
Allow facility to alter the timing before the Auto Lock gets invoked.... again make this dependent on profile... on the move I want it to kick in as it does now but at home I am quite happy if it waits for 5 mins before being activated
Create facility to be able to associate contacts / messages with one or more Group/Category Tags and be able to filter on these. Grouping probably allows more flexibility for viewing. Allow facility to text or email based on Group Tag
Allow facility for archiving contacts to retain details long term but you don't need them listed on a day-to-day basis.
I'll shut up now

Increase the amount of contacts and sms storage capacity and not to mention about sms alert tones (there are people who really care about these ) , gradually replace static os of se by symbian or uiq (first only high end models,them gradually downwards)
This message was posted from a T610

@blackspot
Not that I'm one for self-advertisment of course, but it would seem appropriate.

Another one . . .
An IMPROVEMENT on it's Internal Antenna's Signal strength, as I find

's quite weak compared with that of Nokia's - test done inside my room. What more if it is being used in a BUNKER, if I may say here

!

@jojo
Having been in a nuclear bunker within the last few months, I don't think that any number of aeriel improvements would give one a signal there.
