Bookmark topic
Just a quick question.
Would you accept this after bringing your S700 in for repairs ?

Seems like there are tool marks on the shell aftur the repair personel opened the shell!
Its not much but kind of hurts when you have a new phone !
Whould you do something about this if it was your phone or just let it slide??

@ice5339
You should never accept a scratch on your product after service! The company that you left your phone to have a so called strict responsibility for your phone. No matter what happens to it, you are entitled to have it repaired. If they cannot repair it in reasonable time (three weeks in most countries), you have the right to have a new product. If they cannot provide you with a new product, then you are entitled to have a full refund.
The company who received your phone for repair cannot even claim it's the company that they used for doing the repair that caused the fault. It has to do with the strict responsibility matter (they can however claim the repair service afterwards, but as I said, it's not your problem). You should at once return the phone and claim your rights!
Remember, if the company says that you have to show (prove) that the scratch(es) was not there when you handed it in, they are completely wrong! There is presumtion that you as a customer are correct in your statement in this matter and they have to show (prove) otherwise.
Personally, I would claim a new phone and not allow them the chance to repair it (again). You have been without your phone during the first repair (while it was almost new) and now you risk being without it again while they change the phones parts that were scratched (by them). I would - as a second reason - also claim a new phone due to not trusting the company doing service no more. Since you have had it back from service in a so called damaged condition, I would thereby claim that they are not trusted for a second service and since they have strict responsibility they must therefore either replace it at once or give you a full refund.
Good luck!

I have put phones in for repair in the past thay usually give the phone a look over and if there are marks they write that down on the repair sheet and you sign it saying that you are aware of the marks this is how they cover themselves against people saying you marked my phone while repairing it i want a new one

If they scratched it then I would not be terribly chuffed. I would advise you to have a word with them and explain that it isn't a very good showing to leave your S700 covered in scratche slike that. Be polite, but firm, good luck.

I totally would not accept that… that’s terrible, to be honest, since the phone is so new I wouldn’t accept a repair at all, I would demand a new one…
But scotsboyuk is right be polite but firm with them.

There are two sides of every story. In this case peoples personal opinion and those peoples legal rights. Going back to the store claiming your personal opinion is not the same thing as claiming your legal rights!
The company has the right to repair the damages that they caused the phone. However, if you - as a customer - have a reason not to trust them doing the repair of the damages that they caused, then you can either claim a new phone or a full refund from the company with strict responsibility (which, as I mentioned earlier, is the company that he handed in the phone to, not the company that did the actual repair).
Normally a reseller has two chances to do a repair (of the same problem) before you can claim a new product or a full refund, but that is not the case if the company actually caused the fault (the scratches in this case).

The phone was under repair because of a slight problem with the camera. Images were blurred in one spot on the left side. They exchanged the lens in the repairs and seems like the pictures are perfect now! But at a price as you can see !
I dont know how a SE service center can do this to a phone, I would have to think that because the S700 is quite new that they simply have little experience in opening them or something like that.
I emailed them about the issue and attached the pictures but have not recieved a reply.
Im sure that they will fix this without any problems.
Ill keep you posted.

Well the phone company replaced the phone without any problems and even offered to refund or replace the phone at my choise.
So this little tale is at an end.
