MP4/3gp Videos - Nero Burning ROM/Recode - What Settings?
===============================================
What's the optimum settings for making videos using the Recode program in Nero Burning ROM?
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Done a search here. Done a search at MP4Download.Net. Done a search at Nero.Com. Can't find the answer.

I have got the latest version of Nero Burning ROM which includes the cool Nero Recode application/utility.

This program can convert to MP4 and I noticed an option to make the produced videos QuickTime compatible. I have produced two MP4s, neither of which played on my P910.

So does anyone know what the best settings are to get playback on the Video/PV Player on the P910?

In fact if you know what the best settings are for producing video to playback on the P800 that would be better I guess as the P910 is more powerful, therefore the result should be even nicer.

I hope you can help.

Thanks in advance.

I too have converted a movie to Mp4 using Nero Recode. But I didnt try to play it on my phone.

Not that I can at all explain why, but maybe there is some sort of difference in the way its encoding the files... I "thought" that it converted to Nero Digital, which is a form of MP4, rather than a true MP4.

You should just use Mpegable anyway, its very good.

should be this (borrowed from www.p800.at)

Total bidrate 200kb
Audio bidrate 16kb
Target framerate 15 Downsampeling (depends on the size of the movie)
AUDIO Channels Mono
Presision : same as input
Sample rate : 22050 ENCODING
Keyframe period: 75
B-frame : 0 Image
Qaulity : smooth motion
Compression Qaulity : Fast encoding

Movie output size ~ 192 * 144 (i think)

@Fetzi

How are you my paranoid friend

It seems we have caused quite a stir in that other thread (regarding the database).

Anyway, thanks for that video info.

Now I have the "paper standard" how do I implement it in Nero?

@ Frontman

Yeah, I got the same impression regarding Nero Digital.

I usually hate all these proprietory things - assuming it is proprietory because I can't find any info as to what makes their MP4 a flavour called Nero Digital.

However, there is an option hidden away for QuickTime compatibility. And I was under the impression that making it QuickTime compat would be pretty standard.

dunno where to post this, believe me im going totally nuts!!! i am!! ive never seen such a nasty problem as this, and im getting real nervous, almost trying to break my putter against the wall no sweat!

every single encode to mobile profile in nero recode fails with this error in NeroRecode.log:

burn_ndigital.cpp, line:xxx, error:Unspecified error

the line changes sometimes, but the error is always there: tryied nero6, nero7, nero digital, every single keygen/serial, no solution. tried in my three diferent computers, one with xp, another w2k and my 2003 server, all fails!!!

so im asking for some serious help, i've read every single post refering burn_ndigital.cpp error in google, some talk about serial numbers problems, others about hardware problems, i dont get it: 3 computers and all 3 fails?? omg im desperate

so should i try an older version of nero recode?? which one do you guys use? can demo versions encode full mobile (176x144) videos without registering??

many, many many thanks in advance!!!!!!!!!!!

ah yes m8, i know that page long ago that's why i started looking for Nero Recode, but using the same settings spawn uses (in fact, ANY settings at all give me the error).

what i want to know, in case no one can help me, is what version of nero recode you are using. maybe i should post a screenshot of the error so you can see what going on..
