See the comparison under mobile phones at esato. A1000 is missing some features compared to the P9xx.

Going by the previous motorola UIQ phones they promise so much on paper but are never quite up to the class of a SE P-Series.
Plus it'll be on '3' which is NOT good!

The mpx has a MP Cam but the pics it takes are pitiful compared to the S700!
I also see the only advantage of stereo speakers is to make it louder. You can't appreciate any stereo effect when they're so close together, nice addition though

Not entirely sure regarding the technical side. However, I looked at the Motorola the other day (at a mobile phone shop), and based on my cursory look, I didn't like it.

I have to confess I've just been tempted over to 'Three' with the offer of a free A1000, £40 p/m tariff - Text & Talk 900 (750 x-net mins, any time + 150 Text messages), 1/2 price line rental for three months and the option to down-grade my tariff after 6 months...I've seen similar deals (some better) but went for this one through the CPW website. Compares favourably to my current Orange contract which includes 15mb data, 200 x-net mins and 60 odd text messages for roughly the same price! I've been using the P900 for around a year and although great for surfing I found myself mainly using the internal browser to surf Orange's own content...Main dis-advantage to me is that I won't (that I know of) be able to use any of the mobile email solutions (BES, Smartner, Visto, Openhand etc) I'm trialing for work to pick up mail from my corporate MS Exchange email address due to the 'walled-garden' approach '3' impose on data. BTW...I'll have plenty of P910's to play with next week as ordered a load on a corporate account so may be able to give y'all a better comparison - though I'm sure someone will have already done this!!!
Lastly...here's hoping for a smaller, lighter more feature rich, UIQ 3, Symbian v8, GPS, 3G, Bluetooth v2, Pxxx series handset that will be lauched on a wider variety of 3G networks by, at the very latest, this time next year when I'll want another upgrade!!!

Don't bother... I tried my friends yesterday. The text input isnt as good for some reason as any p*00.
You get a little pop-up area at the bottom or switches to the top if youre working on a field near the bottom of the screen.
It takes about 3seconds to pop up...!
doesnt recognise characters as well as the SE's.
since its your only way of putting stuff on the phone its a big cock up.
The images the camera takes look crappy too and its suppose to be a 1.2 megapixel (me thinks thats an interpolated res...)
I was going to get one in the new year but have resigned my self to wait for the p1000 (lives in hope). I've still got a P800 and dont consider the p9*0 to be worth the upgrade. I was hoping to move up to 3G after chrimbo but considering how this phone still doesnt match upto any SE i've been forced to wait.
And dont get me started on three's walled garden internet access. I dont want news from ITN, i dont want updates on X factor and i want to access 'my' email account.
Seriously i couldnt find one redeaming feature about my friends phone, if you want one thou, his is going to be on ebay really soon...
