All my phone does is dial up.

How do I set bluetooth as the internet connection? What is the nearest thing to `ipconfig` in Windows or `route` in linux?

These are the guides I've tried but all my phone does is dial up GPRS:

Are there any 3rd party tools that can show TCP/IP related settings such as:

- my IP
- PPP remote computer IP
- DNS server
- routing

?

And if not, why not?? Is there any documentation on the subject?

there are several ways under windows. If for instance you are on Vodafone, you can use their ConnectMe software. If you have another provider they can tell you these settings. Under windows you have to install a Bluetooth modem. Set the dial number to *99#. This is the GPRS dial code. You need to know the internet APN of your provider, this is the same APN you set in your P900/910.

Thiw will instruct the phone to dial up its GPRS connection, will it not?

jago25_98: Do you mean using for an example
Opera on your phone to browse Internet using the
PC's Internet connection and not GPRS?
What I do is starting a Bluetooth serial connection
(I make sure bt is enabled on the phone then start
the serial connection in the bluetooth software on
the PC) then I start Opera on the phone and it automatically uses the PC's Internet connection.

Thanks boys but I'm hoping to get the P800 going out over my ADSL LAN connection rather than sthe other way round.
- *99# dials GPRS but what I'm trying to do is have the connection coming out of the phone and onto the internet via bluetooth and my ADSL connection.

This page here gives details about something called mrouter (see section titled "Connecting the P800 to a LAN over bluetooth" a bit below half way: http://www.kevinboone.com/p800_linux.html I think my problem could be the DNS set up wrong. What confuses me is that I don't remember reading much about DNS for the same setup on Windows. I think generally you're not supposed to be able to do this possibly. In that guide the guy seems to be winging it a bit possibly, prompting the phone on the serial bluetooth connection to connect back rather than a more normal way of doing things?
