> P910i - Broken Screen - Arrrgh!
Bookmark topic
Hello all.
I've managed to break my screen, and obviously I'm fuming! I'm going to have to send it off for repair as soon as I can, but I've recieved a bunch of text messages in the last few hours, which I can't read.
Is there any way of me ever reading these messages? Can I extract them from the phone as part of the backup process? Is there any remote control software that allows me to control the phone from my PC? (that's a long shot, I know).
Thanks for any help,
Fudgeboy.

@cyberkid - No - it's not FMA, FMA doesn't work with P9xx. Read their page and see.

yes there is a software that just transferes the mobile on your pc it is called remote p900.
I tried it it is great as it transfers all the phone functionality to your pc u can read and write messages and even dial numbers .
it works with the sync station or the bluetooth connection.

Thanks for the replies guys!
I've tried Remote P910, but because I can't see what I'm doing on the phone, I can't get the server-side application running. It's a real shame, cos this would be the perfect solution.
Any other ways of getting these messages off my phone? Or should I just give it up and send it in for repair?
Ta,
Fudgey.

do a backup. Rename the .ecs file to .zip and now you can view the contents. The file contains a backup dir with *.dat files. There is a filestore.dat.txt which is the index to these. Take a look at them, and just rename the dats to according filenames based on this text file.

Wow! Great advice - thanks! I've now been able to read my messages.
I also found a file which contains my contacts - it's correct file extension is a .cdb file. Does anyone have any idea how I can view this file? It's binary, and I can't see how the names and numbers line up. The phones now been shipped off for a new screen, but I couldn't export all my numbers before it went...
Many thanks,
Fudgeboy
