> SE Z1010 vs LG 8110 vs NEC e616 ?

My choice goes to LG 8110...I think it s the best 3g set available on the three network.It really performs well.The mono exterior display s little tacky
and the video recorder s disappointing,but otherwise this s an excellent phone.Lack of Bluetooth s a pain for driving though and could also scupper the handset
once proper data services arrive.Memory s 14 mb,more than z1010.Z1010 s the too wide,way too deep and heavy to boot.Nec e616 consumes power too quickly
the extended battery should keep u going for a day or twoo with the slim battery.So my choice s the LG 8110.

mmm i don't think that the LG811/20 is better then Z1010 ...
the battary is to weak ... you need to charge it twice a day ..
Z1010 has exp card (up to 128 Mb) BUT . the Z1010 is too thik ( as you said ) i think you shloud wait ! mt brother works for SE ( i will not say any more ) & i am telling you . wait till the middle of 2005 ...

The LG 8120 is a good phone? No thanks! Forget the Nec and the LG, the best choice is the Z1010. The standby-time of both, the LG and the Nec are poor and the 8120 is a very breaky phone with lots of repairs and problems in the 3 net. The Z1010 is the only of the three phones that really looks good. I don't mind its size and I don't like these tiny phones anyway.

I have the U8120 and was considering switching to the z1010 when it's price dropped severely on the Danish market.
Reasons I wanted to switch:
-> Battery Life
-> BlueTooth
Reasons I stayed
1) The internal screen of the U8120 is by far superior to the z1010. When compared, it made the z1010 screen look grainy and dark (and you cannot even compare it with the t610)
2) The z1010 has some problems when switching from a 3g-network to gsm (it will drop your call if the switch is done while talking).
I bought an LG along with my gf in the beginning of august this year, and we have had no problems with the phone so far. Granted, the 3g network isn't always completely stable, but it's naturally not something to blame on the phone.
I use my handset pretty much and usually recharge it once every two days, so the having to recharge twice-a-day statement is a bit far fetched imho.
It all depends on what you want to use your handset for. If you are the type who likes wireless headsets or require your phone to hold alot of data (extended memory) the z1010 would be the only choice.
But then again, considering that the V800 is soon to be released (ought to be the ultimate 3g phone so far), maybe you should simply wait a few months

does the z1010 still over heat around the battery i know the early ones did.
mind you that could be a real advantage in a cold country for keeping one of your legs nice and warm maybe even both legs due to the size of it

Oh yeah, and btw, see if you cannot get the U8120 instead of the U8110. The added internal memory is a neccesity. I don't require more than 32mb, but only having 14mb avaliable could prove to be "not that fun".

Sorry pal, but that's not true. The U8120 screen isn't better than the one of the Z1010. I've tried both, and the Z1010 never droped a call when switching from 3G to 2G. The U8120 was the one with problems in the 3G network and in the 3-Zone. Here in Austria the U8110 and U8120 are the phones with the most breakdowns and repairs.

lol - No offense mate, but the screen difference is immense. One of my colleagues bought the z1010 a month back or so. Let me see if I cannot get a digital photo of the two phones in action for you.
She is the same source from which I've been informed of the sudden drops when she is on the road. Drops, that I haven't experienced to date. As they may very well be related to the 3g network (seamless network switching issues), the tales about z1010 talk- and data drops are quite abundant.

No way - I just looked into a 3-Austria shop and a U8120 today and compared the screen with my Z1010. I had no camera with me but I can tell you that the screens have almost the same contrast, brightness and quality.
But I told you that the Z1010 like other mobiles comes with different display qualities. The first 2 production month they built it with high quality sharp and SE displays and since then they just took the cheapest manufacturer. But thats usual - LG, Samsung, Nokia ... do the same.
