> stolen k700i and imei please help

two days ago i got robbed and my k700i was stolen amongst other things.
i've barred the phone and the sim and reported it to the police and
www.menduk.org and the bus company are downloading the cctv footage for the police so hopefully they'll catch the f***ers but now i'm hearing that imei numbers can be changed... can someone help with the following:
what exactly does imei blocking do to a k700?
the phone was on when it was stolen so can the crims access my videos/pictures/sms/contacts etc or is this functionality blocked when the imei is barred?
can and imei be changed on a k700 and what effect would this have on my stolen phone? could they then access all my info?
your answers would be much appreciated.

When a phone is barred, you can still use the features, but no use the GSM features on it... ie.GPRS, phone, SMS... etc. And unfortunatly, IEMI's can be changed, so if they are half intelligent, they might be able to do it. When its done.. you can access all your stuff again, it will return functionality... i think!
If they do though and are caught, its totally ILLEGAL and is a finable offence i think...
If the SIMs blocked... you can use another SIM as long as the phones not blocked

when i called vodafone they told me the phone would either switch off or default to a white screen when it was barred, i thought this was too good to be true - seems i was right...

Yep, no text or calls are allowed. You get a registration failed message on screen for most network sims you insert. It still says vodafone uk with their sims, but it won't make or recieve calls or texts. You can use all the other features, you can even use gprs. Not with your blocked sim of course.

), and they basically will do everything but call, text, or access data services. However, you can still easily access things like the address book, pictures, etc on the phone I'm afraid.
Also, for some reason on Vodafone and T-Mobile, you can still send and recieve texts even though the phone has been blocked - I didn't think it was possible till I tried it on a blocked P900 also a blocked 8310 and it did both on both phones! Orange and O2 sims won't even register a signal and will simply display 'invalid mobile' on the display.

It could well be - they are still useable for parts - the LCD is probably worth at least £50 alone!
The best way imo of stopping mobile crime is if there is a way to 'overload' the phone when it's blocked so that all the electronic components, the screen, everything gets fried and the phone can't even be sold for spares then. Is this possible?
