Howdy peeps,

I'm a n00b so hello!

I currently own a Motorola V80, but the joystick on it is completely f**ked now and the phone was rubbish anyway.

I use to have a T610 which was cool, and a friend (who posts here.. "joebmc") has a k700i and it looks pretty cool.

I got a few bob to spend on a phone and I'm looking at the S700i simply cos 1. it plays MP3s and more importantly 2. it is a 25x color screen.

Where would you suggest is the cheapest (and most reliable) place to buy sim-free phones? I only really know extele.com and thats done a runner... so any other place (preferably that you have ordered from) that are any good would be great?

Also what other phones are available that have 25x+ colour screens on the market? I know the Samsung D410 and the Sharp GX30... anymore?

also (final question, honest) is the s700i any good? Or is is a bit over priced?

Any help will be appreciated!

Thanks

Steve McKeogh

Well hello

Cheapest place I could find the s700i was £419.95 @expansys.com!
Seems still pretty expensive to me (rather save £200 and get a k700i

Edit: just found s700 for £399.89 @directmobileaccessories.co.uk
my search shall carry on for you

@joebmc: yo bruv arent you spose to be working

Cheers boys, after I posted this I looked on ebay and saw the phone for £350 (buy it now) so I think I will go for that as its cheaper than the ones you mentioned joe and the ebay dude selling them looks quite reliable.

Now could someone tell me... is the s700i any good? Don't want to get it and find its rubbish and very difficult to use.

Thanks lads for your help!

Hmm Manila... cellphones are no way cheap in Manila. Somehow SE phones have a high status over here so the price stays high. But I guess compaired to UK or european market it is still cheaper.

To be totally honest I would not get the s700, yeah it’s a nice phone but its far to over priced, if I were you I’d try and pick up a p900 (ok camera’s not all that, but your never going to want to print out your phone camera pic’s are you?), Its got a lot (a hell of a lot) more features than s700 and can play mp3’s and video too! Plus if your considering spending £300 + I’m sure you could pick one up for under £300 (as p910 out now).

Now you may think the pxxx phones are big but there actually a lot smaller than s700 when opened! But then you did have an xda 2 so I guess your used to bricks !

Bottom line is stevie boy what do you want/need from your phone???

Just noticed you asked wether the s700 easy to use... well you had a t610 for a year and the UI still pretty much the same!

@keogh... Ditto arnt YOU at work too???

p900 is bigger than the s700... well acording to this site it is and it does look bigger.

also (no offense to p900 owners) but I think the phone looks quite ugly... and doesn't have the 25x colour screen that I want... and is the most importent thing, cos the v80 screen looked sh*te!

and I dont want the k700i cos I know there would be confusion between us taking each others phones.... and I don't like you dreamboys standby screen

I like the look of the s700 and its swivel like my v80.... sweeeeet.

But suggestions are still welcome
