> K700 Battery Life with Bluetooth ON?
Bookmark topic
Hi guys,
What kind of battery life should i expect on the K700 with Bluetooth turned on?
I fear something may be wrong, coz i am only getting 26hrs between each charge.... and thats including only 12 mins talktime !
I have had it for 4 days now, and keep needing to charge it.
(its a bst-30 700mAh battery. and phone is running Orange firmware R2Y005)
Cheers.
PS - i know bluetooth drains the battery, but i need to leave it on for so i can use a handsfree kit in the car while driving.

Welcome here! If bt is constantly on u get ca 1/3 or 1/4 of batt performance as usually. As i know k7 hasnt got auto bt option, what would turn on bt only at calls.

I don't think BT would reduce it to just 1/4 of normal battery life but it will use some.
U should also remember that brand new batteries need several full drain > charge cycles until they reach full capacity.
GPRS use a lot of battery & so does the screen if u have it active all day

Your battery life should improve after several charging cycles. I have no trouble these days going two days between charges, and

is always on for me (but not in discoverable mode--i.e., visibility is OFF).

Thanks the replies so far guys.
I'm a long time lurker, but first time poster. Been reading Esato since my T68 days.
Yeah, i did read that the battery would need several charge cycles to settle down, but i am very disappointed with my current performance. Its only been lasting just over 24 hrs, and i havent even started using it properly yet ... only 10 mins of calls per day
(My old T610 would last over 48hrs before needing a charge, and that was with BT turned on, and 2hrs of calls per day)
I have bluetooth on, but visibility off (i figured that might help battery). The lcd backlight goes off ater a few seconds, and i dont use GPRS at all.
I havent even been fiddling/playing with the phone - that 26 hrs standby is literally phone in stanby.
The only other thing i can think of that might drain the battery is the animated theme. But the lcd goes off just after auto keylock.
Could it be a firmware issue ?
But from what i understand, R2Y005 is the latest Orange firmware.

@balks the light turns off after the keylock, thats normal. I am afraid the batt wont last longer at your busy usage.

Do you have the 'automatic' or 'powersave' option for standby? If automatic, you can see the time jumping around, even though the backlights are off.
Powersave is a significant difference. If you want to see the time press a volume button, if you want to see the situation of the phone press one of the softkeys.

Do you have the Light set to Power Save? 24 hours seems poor for current firmware...

I'm using R2L firmware, bluetooth is always on, phone is left on over night, make about 10 minutes of calls a day using both bluetooth headset and handset on it's own, battery life is at least 2 days, normally 3 days to be honest. Phone and battery are now 4 Months old. Be patient, your battery will improve as mine did
