hi all

just registered even though i read on ESATO every day.

I got my eye on the K500i and i want you to honestly BY YOUR OWN EXPERIENCE WITH IT..to tell me...

How long does the battery lasts?

my T610 lasts about 4-5 days if i don't use IRDA or talk much, i owned a K700i and i broke it in pieces (yes that's true, i smashed it to the ground in anger after using it 1 week, battery sucks big time, no option to fix the CONTRAST of the screen, joystick erratic).....

so i am wondering if the K500i suffers the same thing (laggy menu, dim contrast, battery that lasts 1 day without use etc...).

Please , if you own a K500i and used it, let me know...so i don't waste my money and then smash it to pieces (made a habit ) lol.

Lasts approx 2 and half days without using wap and normal usage. And i suggest you get a titanium cased cell phone and not a k500i. Else coustom make one in armour coated steel. This message was posted from a K500

If I were u I wouldn't smash my phone into pieces. That's too 'wow' considering many people still have no phone with them. That's too extreme,pal! Sell it or give it to others. Do you have a lot of bucks anyway? Someday kick ur P910 out of ur pocket and smash it..just joking. My k700 is just fine. My friend's 500i is equal. I think the batt drains quickly. After 1 month usage..
5 days (day and night) several talking + java + cam
K500i menu is faster and not laggy as the K700i (yes I've compared it)
Oh yea, I must say that it's not a phone that you can throw with it

ok , but if i throw it on you , you'd get a face that looks like Nosferatu and you would hear ringtones everytime you open your mouth to smile (that is , if they don't end up in pieces too )....j/k

i smashed the phone because it was 2 days i didn't get a single SMS and then i rebooted the phone and came like 18 SMS in bulks , missed appointements, work schedules and all the rest......you may understand me

SO , the K500i will drain, but i won't find the battery in half after i full charge it and do just a couple of calls @ the end of the day right? (that's what happend with K700i).

i've always wondered how the manufacture release a phone with such bug, it's not like they don't test it right?

If you had waited just a litle bit longer before smashing up your phone - you might have had the time to upgrade the firmware to R2L which fixed almost all bugs, including batterymeter, and the battery in your phone might have had the time to do more chargecycles which would also prolong batterylife and you would have experienced batterytimes of 3 days with normal use like me and most others (and 4-5 days using the 1100mah battery) - you might also have had the time to discover that the sms not arriving had nothing to do with any bugs in your phone but are related to your operator - and that any calendar or contactproblems are nomally caused by operatorbranded firmwares.

You might have had the time to discover that after the firmwareupgrade to R2L - the K700 works more or less perfect in every aspect. It has done so for me in 4 months now - never had a single problem with anything. No crashes - no nothing.

In short - youve smashed up the phone for nothing.

The K500 is based on exactly the same platform and uses the same firmware. Its only a stripped down k700 with less memory, no bt, and a smaller resolution screen. You might experience an hour or 2 longer batterylife because it doesnt have BT to use battery and the screen use less battery. Some might say JAVA is faster - this is not true, but is simply based on people not understanding that games run a few fps faster because they run in a smaller resolution on the K500 - if you run a javagame in the same resolution on the k700 speed will be exactly the same.

By getting a K500 - you will be getting exactly the same as you had - only with a few functions taken away and the screenresolution lowered.

Its still a nice phone - both the K500 and the K700
