Hi everybody, this is my first post in this forum, which i have been reading for a while. Now it's my turn to write!
I have made a search for this kind of problem, but i have found nothing so far... Can someone help me, please?
My p800 started to behave strangely in sms management since the last firmware update. Any recieved message got stored in the SIM only, without being copied in the phone memory as it was before the update. This could be no problem, except that, sometimes, all messages stored in the SIM get hidden by the phone software (exactly as it did before updating, only without the copy) even BEFORE i can read them. I hear a ring, the display shows me "1 message recieved", i press OK to read and i am shown the list of messages i have stored (manually) in the phone memory.
I checked with my friends with P* and noone has the same problem; i asked to SE online assistance who told me to go to an authorised center; i went there and they reinstalled the firmware (in a different way, according to what they said) but nothing changed.
Anyone knows how to help me?

Thanks in advance!

Bye!
Marco

sorry mate, no idea.. what about a master reset?
Are you using only sim contacts? Perhaps this could be a reason?
There is a way to define Folders in Application menu/menu bar - but Iīm pretty sure it hasnīt anything to to with your problem because there is no way to choose simcard as folder..

Good luck though!

I had done a master reset not long time ago, but nothing changed in the way my p800 handles sms...
Also, all my contacts are stored in the phone memory, the SIM is completely free (except for the messages stored, on which I have a really slight control... )
I don't think it could be a problem with my operator, since it all was working good before my first firmware update, so I really don't know where to look...
Thanks anyway!

Bye

Well, according to what I have read in the various threads so far, mine seems to be the latest firmware update available...

never heard of this before..
if you still get free f/w updates ask for another one and see what happens (although im guessing not much).

(sorry for the delay, I had a very busy day in uni yesterday, so i couldn't reply before)
The f/w update after the appeareance of the problem has already been made, almost only to try and solve that, 'cause it had other anormalous features, but absolutely nothing changed. I reported this to the technician and he said that the only solution left was sending it over to SE, which it would have taken at least one month and more than 100€. I decided to keep it this way and try for alternative solutions... But il looks like there aren't.
Thanks everybody!

Bye
