> Z600 To Buy or not TO Buy ?
Bookmark topic
Currently I have a 2.5 year old Sony J70 and I want to buy a new phone soon.
My problem is I like the Z600 and the K700 and money is a big problem, so z600 means a new phone next month but the K700 means I wait for 5-6 more months. Since I really don't want to wait much longer I have a few questions
1 I hear the RF on the z600 is not so good but how does it compare to T230 which I find ok.
2 What is a vodafone branded z600 like? Does it have voda menus or just 0.5MB of useless voda software and vodafone logos on the outside. I'm asking because I haven't seen any non branded ones in Egypt.
3 I had had made up my mind to get a K700 but last night I saw a z600 in a black cover on display and thats what changed my mind.
4 Do you think should wait aim for the K700 and hope SE releases a clamshell version before I buy it, which will mean that I would be going for an even more expensive phone??

the z600 is a great little phone, i have quite few SE phones right now, but i still use my z600 more than the others. The k700i is a very up to date and atractive phone but in terms of the price difference i would go for the Z600.

I think i would go for K500 actually.. if Bluetooth is not essential. This is very personal opinion, but i have always thought the Z600 looks like a Big Mac.. even more so since i got my Moto V3
Thereīs no doubt in my mind the Z600 is a nice phone though! Just get rid of any Voda branding and it will serve you well, iīm sure.

z600: 99.99 in o2 store in newcastle upon tyne
k500: 139.99 in o2 store, or 99.99 on orange with branding
personally, the k500 is brill, but the z600 is still neat.
but i would prefer the t630, the noise that the z600 makes when you open and close it is awful!

I want bluetooth.
The question is is the branding on z600 just some software or is it menus in vodafone colors and all that?
Two more questions
Do T630 games work on the z600? I want Erix on my fone but on Fun& download its only under games for T630.
Would the new fm radio headset for T290 and J200 work on the z600.
I kind of want a clamshell and I haven't seen any T630
so the only other option would be the T610

OK, that rules out the K500 then.

The branding is in the firmware and includes locked WAP-settings, locked Voda pics and dreadful Voda three-color menus and disabled softkeys. Not that hard to get rid of with the proper tools though

I am 99% sure games for T630 will work in Z600 too, havent tried myself, hence the 1 unsure %

Donīt know really, should work, unless SE has changed the connector layout?

IMO the T630 is nicer, but thatīs not because i donīt like clamshells per se, itīs just that the Z600 isnīt the slimmest most well designed one i have seen *now wasnīt that diplomatic?

* anyhow, why not have a look at SE website and/or dealer who has them both?

the Z600 is Ģ99.99 at O2 stores plus you get Ģ15 pound topup and a free car-100 bluetooth car!
and the K500 is 129.99 not 139.99
Go for the z600!

I had a Z600 unbranded, the software of mine was very slow. Thatīs why I sold it after 2 months.
You should better look for a T630...

I think I'll wait till January then see. SE has an event on Jan 5th and the last similar event we got the T290 and J200.
The main reason I want a clamshell is that any phone I'm going to buy is going to stay with me for at least 2 years and acsessories are hard to find, esspetially leather covers. I know the screen won't get that scratched but my phone is always in my pocket so the chances it will are high.
Although the z600 is fat but it still is the best looking clamshell I've seen.
I just hope Jan 5th can give me all I want K700 = clamshell

I bought Z600 in September 2003 and I still use it now. A nice phone, indeed. FYI, I once had a T630, too. But, I like my Z600 more. The display is brighter than the one in T630. Also when there's an incoming call, you don't get '2 sec increasing ringing tone' as in the T630.
