(Title changed from "Can't believe I never tried this!")

To get to the Service menu on P-Series I've always put the virtual flip up & always tell people it is accessed with FC mode.
This bugged me as I don't use the flip or v.flip (don't even have the icon to clutter up the status bar).
So, to the point, it only just occured to me to try it using the number keypad in the 'Phone' app & of course it works!!!

Why did I never think of that before is it just me or anyone else never thought of this?

Mik

Ah, so maybe I'm good for finding it rather than slow to think of it

I'm sure someone here already knew this?

I'm glad though cos it's much more convenient for me.

Damn! There goes my ideea of writing an application to do exactly just that (poorly, of course) and sell it for $25.95. Oh, and you have to pay an extra $10 for each Pro version.

Now I have to think of something else. And I had the whole thing so nicely planned out, until you came and rained on my parade.

now, I didn't get what u meant by using the fc or vflip or even the numberpad, I read earlier in one of the threads that u use the jog dial for this, am I speaking about the same thing or am I just being stupid.
Please if there a special procedure to reach the service menu, other than using the jog dial because it never worked with me, I'll appreciate it.
Thanks

To access the Service menu:
roll jogdial up once, press *, jogdial down, jogdial down, *, down, *

FC means flip closed
v.flip means virtual flip
-I meant use these to press the * key but now I know u can do it using the * key on the number pad in the 'Phone' application
