taken from this BBC article and this Which? article
It seems that the Consumer group Which? has recommended that people don't buy 3G phones just yet and say its better to wait until coverage is better to make the cost of the phones more worthwhile
it also says they cannot recommend any 3G phone as "best buy"
I tend to agree and will hold off for a while yet before jumping in again

I agree also... I don't think 3g will reach its commercial phase till end of 2006., begining of 2007. The prices will drop for sure in 2005. and 2006. and services will get better and more reliable, but it will still be something like GSM was 10 years ago. On the other hand I am aware of all of this and I said many times that I'll wait, but this little green alien in my head don't want to have a nescafe break and I know I'll be first one standing in the shop when my network starts to offer UMTSservices

im not sure what to do, because tmobiles 3g is ment to go live in the 16 feburary, and i can upgrade on the 6th, i think ill wait and see what there service is like,
