> What lacks in K700 to make it perfect?
Bookmark topic
1. Memory card socket supporting atleast 1Gb
Also speedy enough to stream movies & audio from it without problem.
2. Better battery (maybe 1000 mAh?)
3. 3mm socket for ordinary freestyle headsets
4. Push to talk
5. Edge
6. Remove the damn Quickshare sticker and make it a print instead
7. 1.3 mpixel camera
8. Better light (maybe a real flash?)
9. Optional silent camera
10. phonebook with more than one entry for home, work or mobile
number and also email address
11. Better quality recording movie with moving target & mobile.
12. Option to call someone with speaker phone on before person
answers
13. Lens protection
14. Apparently K700 can't recieve emails with attachments, this fixed
of course
15. Option to deactivate anims on the menu icons to make menu
speedier for advanced users
16. Better picture quality in low light situations (K700 sucks here)
I can't come up with anymore! Can you???

Guess brand would make never a "perfect" fone. Their interest is that customers keep on buying new models instead of use one as long as possible.

True.
A perfect phone will never be invented. Us consumers are never satisfied with any product - we always say "i wish it had this feature".

If I could make one change to the k700, it would be for it to have external memory storage although since I don't use the K700 as an mp3 player this is just a desirable feature rather than a missing feature for me. The camera is crap but then again so are most phone cameras, i use a pocket Canon camera for my digital needs, I guess I'm not too demanding on my phone for it to replace other devices.

The K700i is what it is now, other than that is not a K700i.

. . . . a Memory Card Slot, even just having a capacity of - 128 MB, will do for me

More features will always mean compromises:
- bigger
- heavier
- more complicated
- more expensive
and that leads to ... a P800/900/910 or a s700 etc.
To me the question is always if the set of features is a "unit", if the phone makes sense. The K700 does, maybe not so much as the t610/630 which are really well balanced phones. Maybe the k500 is more balanced as well.
The mp3player question is hard to answer. On the one hand if you have more memory or a memory stick of some sort you could put enough music on it to make it a useable mp3-player. But then a phone will always lose against an IPod or one of that kind. Also I do not see the battery issue resolved. That makes phones limited if not useless for serious mp3 playing. I can see a lot of other features in a phone (radio, gps, BT-applications, electronic purse, even the compass & thermometer that Nokia has put in one) but the marriage mp3-player - phone is just not to be I'm afraid. Dedicated hard-drive mp3-players will always win hands down in useability, playlisting, quick transfer, audio quality, co-operation with software on the pc->internet, compatibility with audio & car systems, looks, etc. Also the environment you use an mp3player may be one where you don't want your phone to be in the picture. It is a different kind of mindset. And when you have a full-blown mp3player that looks good for 350 euros the price will become an important factor too.

Weird, that a batt is usually on the wishlist, however it should be a "default" feature.
