Hi, I have 4 batteries for my P900. These are about 6 months old. I used to go about 2 days with each when fully charged. All of a sudden, this past week, I have noticed that my batteries last only about 4-6 hours! I am wondering if there is something that might have gone crazy in the phone that is draining these batteries. There are no special programs running in the background and I am using the phone in pretty much the same manner as before but the batteries just die so quickly now. given that it is multiple batteries I am ruling out the batts themselves. It is either a phone problem or maybe a network issue where my connection to the network is somehow tedious requiring many registrations? I have not, however, noticed any bad signal zones etc....

Has anyone seen this or have an idea what could be causing this sudden drop in battery life for my 6 month old phone?

Thanks.

I was ready to post the same thread my friend!

I have 3 batteries. One of 1260mAh and two of 1000mAh. So I kinda circulate the batteries on my P900. However I gave one of my 1000mAh to a friend of mine for his P900 couple of monts ago, since his got wet together with the phone and somehow he got a replacement without a new battery. After 6 months my 1260 and 1000 mAh last 10-12 hours. My friend gave me back my 1000mAh battery since he bought a new one last month and the battery is perfoming excellent compared with the other two.

I really dont know what seems to be the problem. Perhaps with the phone? The charger? The batteries? Its a bit confusing and I think I will have a clear picture once I make the first charging of the battery that was returned back. For the record this battery stayed alive for two whole days.

I don't think there's a networkproblem, that wouldn't cause so much problems. It must be something wrong with the phone that drains battery, i have had my P900 for 5 month's and have had this problem 2 times during that time. A restart of the phone have solved my problems, i asume that your problem is bigger...

Batt and fone has to get used to each other, if u usually change the batts, it wont be the same performance always. Maybe u should do a fw upgrade it increase the batt performance aswell if it is. This message was posted from a T68

My P900 lasts up to 10-12 hours with the screen on all the time, if it only last 4-6 hours with normal use it's a major problem wich don't would be solved by a uppgrade or something like that.

My P900 had a similar battery problem back in Sept. I too had purchased extra batteries to rule them out as the problem. My battery life was less than an hour. I suspect some software may contibute to this problem. I added Smartner Duality for corporate email, and a couple of weeks later, the battery life dropped. I ultimately sent the phone back to SE (twice), and they sent me a replacement phone.

The interesting thing though, is a co-worker of mine with a p800 also recently installed Smartner, and his battery life has also deteriorated.

I would suggest removing the most recent software added to the phone prior to noticing the battery problem, to see if that resolves anything....

i had a p800 that did this and the solution seemed to be a application called switcher as it closes all the programmes running in the back ground as you tell it to, as all the applications running in the back ground use up alot of battery however im not sure if this is what is happening with you p900
