I have a old CD-ROM in my computer. I recently brought a CD-RW drive. I know how to install them but what I want to know is that do I need to remove any drivers etc. of the old CD-ROM which I want to take out and replace with my new CD-RW?

Its always better and safe to remove the drivers from the device manager in system properties before removing any hardware component.But if you've XP it'll autocuically remove the drivers after you've removed the cd-rom.
