Hey.....Hello all it's my first post...woo hoo!!

I bought a K700i on Orange today. Was going to get on Vodafone but considered their firmware to be far worse than Vodafone's. I understand that Orange have knackered the SE shortcuts but have they also disabled the cool SE SMS recieved notification? On my old T630 I would get a notification on the main screen to tell me who the SMS was from and also a photo if allocated.......this is not happening on my k700i. Can I do anything about this or is it a firmware issue....really do not want to go down the flashing route as I can live without it.

Was pleasantly surprised that the Orange Branding was not that bad....on Vodafone it is disgraceful!!

Networks block certain features like these and some have them removed to make way for there branding on the phone, one of the only ways to use these kinds and other features are by de-branding.

We do sell the correct info to de-brand your phone and make it like SIM free so you can use all the great SE features.

very easy to do and unlocks the true potential of the phone how SE intended it

before you say why do SE butcher there phones like this, its becuase networks pay large amounts of money for there phones to have this stuff on there.

thanks for the reply.......sounds like is a firmware issue then. Bit confused as you say 'we' sell solution, are you a company then?

Bearing in mind I bought the phone today on Orange payg could I get it flashed to generic FW free of charge through SC or would it cost me...what sort of price in UK pounds?

When people refer to the SE service centres where are these based?....Do Carphone Warehouse offer this service?

Have checked my phone and is newest FW but would like to use to full potential...in some ways the Orange desktop is not that bad but did like the SE SMS notification & shortcuts.

One final thing....is this flashing procedure totally safe....don't fancy losing £180 in a rush!!

Thanks
