Please can anyone help me to take decision of buying SE K500i. Recently I got Nokia 6610i, Camera quality sucks, I have few questions regarding SE k500i

1. How is the battery performance. Nokia 6610i work 4 days for me.
2. Can I transfer ringtones, themes, wallpapers, mp3 and videos via IR.
3. What is the current firmware version of K500i and how to check it.
4. As compare to Nokia 6610i camera and other features do you think that SE K500i worth replacement.

Thanks!

Defnitely No,

The camera is Great on a K 500i compared with 6610, the software can interpolate upto 1.2 Mega Pix,
The screen is STN so it's real bad compared with the 6610 ...
The battery is same as K 700i but lasts longer , at least 2 days on standard usage.
Yes you can transfer all types of data through your IR port...
Another drawback is the K 500i has a megre 12 MB memory..
In my opinion the best replacement for a 6610 is the K 700i..
The new Firmware is R2L001, Although reports are that a new firmware is out..!

Check it out as posted in FAQ thread..

regards,

I dont know how you bought nokia 6610i as per my experience i would suggest not to go foR K500i ......because it has many features but less memory so you will feel the lag of it .......instead invest some more thousand and buy K700i the battery if used properly will last 1.5 days to 2 days you have it has mp3 player, vga camera, video recording....it has 41mb memory but no provision for memory stick :-( , the software to go with is r2l also you can transfer anything except games via bluetooth and or ir This message was posted from a WAP device

Thankyou very much for contribution. Most of you guys suggested that I should buy K700i rather than K500i but I have heard that battery performance of K700i is worst, every day you have to charge it. Is there any firmware out to solve battery issue.

Actually it depends on how much of the features you use often. For normal use, it would last 2-3 days. But if you use mp3 player, FM radio and camera intensively, you have to charge daily. It also has a larger screen which also another factor. Frequent use of BT is also another. In the case of the K500i, it has less features but it's using the same battery so it should last a considerable number of hours longer. It's really not that bad if you consider the overall picture.

Camera quality is not the best, it is the only let-down. Everything else is perfect if you dont want a super duper screen, bluetooth and radio!
