> Problem with this mp3 file
Bookmark topic
Hi guys, I'm using a P910 and the problem here is this. First of all I copied an mp3 file to my memory stick. After that, I assigned a contact of mine to that mp3. The problem here is that everytime that contact calls, everything goes blank, and the phone simply restarts itself. I knew that the problem lies with the mp3 file because since I removed it and replaced the ringing tone to another mp3 and it all worked fine.
Has anybody ever encountered such problem? What went wrong anyways? Can somebody explain to me?

Not a big problem nothing to worry about. Simply a courrupted MP3 file. Most likely corrupted whilst being copied over do not worry my friend no damage to your handset has occured.

You could try re-encoding the file with something like dbPoweramp

Or simply transfer again to the phone and this time make sure you dont disconnect to quick.

If it did play, then it poses a good question maybe the file was too long to be used as a ring tone?
edit: just used a 10minute mp3 file as a ring tone works fine.
Looks as though were going towards the standardised solution of a firmware update.

Thanks guys for the replies.
I forgot to say that it played well using the music player. After the phone restarts, everything went a bit crazy though, you can't write using the stylus, other people who called couldn't get through. After I turned it off, and then back on again that everything went back to normal. Scary shit though.
I do believe that somehow the file was corrupted anyways. The mp3 was just 2 minutes long and had a 192 kbit rate.
