> P800 Won't Charge
Bookmark topic
Had my P800 a week, I bought it off ebay described as a as new insurance replacement. Everything was fine for a week but last week I left it on charge overnight, when I awoke the phone had switched itself off.
Now it won't charge properly - the green bar doesn’t pulse and it takes 10-12 hours to charge fully. When disconnected from the charger the battery only lasts about 2-3 hours.
I have tried the following, master reset, internal format, different charger, uninstalled all non standard programs, changed sim, but nothing has sorted it. I have searched the forum and found topics were people have had similar problems but they never seem to reveal how or if they solved the problem.
I think I have the following options available to me and would be most appreciative of some educated opinions on what to do next:
-Try and get the phone repaired, I am based in Lincolnshire UK, does anybody know anywhere close?
-Get a new battery and desktop charger and try charging the battery outside the phone
-Give up, put it down to experience, sell the phone for spares on ebay and get another phone, I’m looking at the sendo X
Thanks in advance

Welcome here! It could be the batt, charger or the fw itself. How old is the batt?

According to the bloke I bought it off (who i'm going off rapidly) the battery, like the phone had had no use before I recieved it.
Also, just got an email back from SE suggesting i contact the main service agent and send the phone off for repair. Has anybody any experience of this? I get the feeling its going to very pricey, I don't really want to spend even more money and then have the phone konk out again.
In the meantime I think i'm going to try a new battery, there fairly cheap on ebay, least it will rule it out as the problem

If the battery hadn't been used, then it may be dead. Batteries live a life, like humans, and then they can slowly grow old and die. Happened with my t200 *sheepish*

a long long long
long time ago ( i dont still use one, honest! ) and i had to replace the battery, even tho the other one looked as good as new.
it really depends, people of ebay can talk some rubbish nowadays, be careful. but dont fiddle, take it to a service centre asap for the ppl to have a look at it!

guess it´s not that useful to discuss 'what it could be' -
I had a similar problem, went to SE, first time they replaced the battery, second the charger and finally the phone (which indeed was the problem).
go for service - best choice you can make

Charger works fine on my T310 (which is rock solid and the main reason i bought SE again). I have actually managed to charge the P800 battery in the T310 (don't ask, it involved rubber bands) but it still drains in two hours when put back in the P800. I think i'll call the service centre, but sending the phone off dosn't sound that appealing.
