Ans: YES

2. the maximum capacity is 128mb

Ans: YES

3. what is magicgate? an older version of duo?

Ans: "MagicGate" is copyright protection technology. This protection type is patched on to flash memory medium by several vendors (ie Sony, Sandisk, Lexar, etc..)

4. what is the ideal memory size for p800

Ans: (Ram is limited) 128mb expanded memory may be crucial for additional apps.

5. which brand? sony, scandisk or lexar

Ans: No difference in performance so by cheapest available

6. cheapest place in uk

Ans: ??? (Shop around - maybe Ebay is best bet in UK)

thanks

If your wanting it cheap, try dabs.com, they have 128mb cards starting from £28.99. I don't think the adapter is included though (to use it in a PC or another device) but if your only using it your phone, then it's not much of a problem.

Magicgate makes no difference if using it with the phone.

MagicGate duos are more expensive compared to the ordinary ones, I think.

i would like to buy a new memory stick for my p800. I'd like to buy a 512 mb but i have several questions.....

i would use the new memory stick mainly as a mp3 storage, in order to make an heavy usage of p800 as a mp3 reader. i was wondering if magic gate could represent a trouble for this kind of usage (transferring mp3 from pc to p800, then listen to them: can i with a Magicgate memory stick?)

i wanted to buy this memory stick

Sandisk Memory Stick PRO 512 Mb

is this compatible with p800

if not, what is the memory stick compatible with p800 with the max amount of RAM?

Lupoalforno:

That won't work. Here's a little guide to which sticks work with P800 and P900:

If it says PRO, it won't work.

If capacity > 128MB, it must be PRO (so it won't work)

If it DOESN'T say DUO, then it's a full-size memory stick, and it won't even fit in the slot!

Magicgate-or-not doesn't matter.

Sony/Sandisk/Lexar doesn't matter - they should all work as well as each other and be equally reliable.

Hope that helps.
