first of all you have to disable the new windows firewall ONLY FOR THE MROUTER RUNTIME. control panel/security center/ firewall/exeptions (check the box mrouter runtime) then double click the phone connection monitor on the taskbar. if the comm port 500 is checked, uncheck it. restart the computer and try again. this should fix the problem (it did for me)

I'm sure someone on this board has had the same issues, but they may have had a different root cause. All PC configurations are going to be unique I'm sure. I never had issues with my P800, P900, or P910 with XP SP1 or now with SP2 which I have installed on 2 laptops and 2 desktops at home (all running Norton). However, so many others have. I think you should take the remedy that worked for most and apply it to your case.
Again, if it still doesn't work for you it's probably because they may have had different root cause then you do. The sure way to diagnose the root cause is to format your hard drive and start from scratch using a process of elimination method. If it works off the bat with no other software installed other then XP + PC Suite then start applying your normal desktop software (office, norton, etc..) piece by piece until it stops working. If that's not the case start looking at your handset and try someone else's handset on the same PC. In terms of connection issues I have seen handsets (identical models) behave differently on the same PC. But that's because handsets are never truely equal and very well may contribute to the root cause as well.
